The card game version of the Forced to Flee
Forced to Flee was originally a card-based role-playing game designed to simulate the complex journeys of displaced individuals. With nearly 100 decision points, it offered an immersive but time-intensive experience. The goal of this project was to adapt it into a digital format without losing its emotional depth or educational impact. I collaborated with Red Cross Sweden and IFRC to reimagine the game for the Gamoteca platform.
My primary role as a researcher was to simplify the game mechanics, distill long decision trees into concise, interactive learning journeys, and retain the nuances of real-world refugee experiences.

Using a Human-Centred Design approach, I facilitated co-creation sessions with both stakeholders and beneficiaries. These sessions informed the design of game-based learning prototypes aimed at helping volunteers and employees shift perspectives and build empathy through digital play.
